Benefits

AquaDog offers a safe and fun environment to assist dogs of all ages and abilities in achieving fitness goals, recovering from injury and enhancing their overall well-being.

In addition to exercise and massage techniques, aquatic fitness uses the buoyancy, resistance and warmth of the water to benefit your pet.

The buoyancy, or weightlessness of the dog while in the water relieves pressure on joints and allows muscles to relax, thus making  full range of motion possible. The natural support of the joints provided by movement in the water gives protection from injury and often eases pain from injury or chronic conditions such as arthritis.

Resistance on the muscles in water is many times greater than movement in air.  As a result, muscles are strengthened, conditioned and restored.  The dog enjoys  fuller range of motion with less pain.

Warmth can assist in improving circulation, increasing flexibility and promoting relaxation. AquaDog maintains its pool at 87-90 degrees to aid your pet in achieving greater relief of muscle tension as well as enjoying a cardiovascular workout without overexertion.

When the benefits of the warm water are combined with massage, the results are remarkable. Aquatic swimming is especially good for:

  • pre/post-surgery
  • chronic pain
  • poor mobility
  • arthritis
  • injuries
  • hip/elbow dysplasia

  • obesity and weight management
  • cardiovascular health
  • competition/show conditioning

  • mental stimulation
  • relaxation and anxiety reduction
  • building confidence
